What is a White Dove Release?
A White Dove Release is an event that takes place during your wedding or special occasion. It is the opening of various shaped baskets, crates or cages to let a group of white doves take to the sky. They commonly soar up and circle the area a few times before gracefully flying off to find their way home. The release may be performed after ceremony by the bride and groom or by the professional to create the effect of a sudden burst of beauty.
Types of Releases
For a bride and groom release, the bride and groom have traditionally released the doves before their limo-champagne toast. This adds an elegant touch to the wedding and a special photo session. The photographer and videographer, as well as the guests, get their cameras ready and the couple is given the “go ahead” to open the basket...capturing the scene forever. The release may be as hands-on as you wish. Open the basket yourselves or choose a professional or side release. In a side release the couple has traditionally requested the birds to be set free past their outdoor setting immediately after their first kiss as husband and wife. This option creates a beautiful, fairytale-like effect.

Our ribbons and flowers are chosen to coordinate with your color scheme, looking beautiful and blending naturally with your bridal party in your wedding photos. The chest lid is easily opened by the couple, creating the white birds as the foreground with the couple directly behind. The lifting of their pure white wings is easily captured as the dozen or more birds appear out of the basket: silky heads first, then wings flapping gracefully…and just for a moment Your Own Piece of the Sky.

With each release we include a free display of two white doves. The pretty white birdcage is decorated with ribbon and flowers to compliment your colors, and holds two white doves that are available for all guests to photograph or pose next to after the ceremony.
